Faster Clone Selection with CellCelector CLD: From Thousands to the Best

Sartorius Introduces CellCelector CLD to Accelerate Monoclonal Cell Line Development

Sartorius has announced the launch of the CellCelector CLD, an advanced automated platform designed to streamline monoclonal cell line development (CLD). By integrating high-speed scanning, sophisticated imaging, and gentle cell isolation, the system enables scientists to efficiently identify, verify, and isolate high-quality clones while preserving cell viability and ensuring comprehensive documentation.

Processes that traditionally required several months can now be completed in approximately seven weeks. The platform allows research teams to transition from screening to stable, high-producing cell lines more quickly than conventional methods, with complete traceability throughout the workflow.

The CellCelector CLD offers high-speed automated scanning to detect monoclonal wells and monitor clonal growth over time. Its purpose-built imaging technology ensures consistent and reliable results, even for complex targets. When combined with Sartorius’ Next Generation CLD Nanowell Plates—equivalent to 885 standard 96-well plates—the system enables large-scale screening, delivering 40% more monoclonal wells and over three times higher clone outgrowth compared to standard plates. It can generate up to 15,000 monoclonality-verified clones ready for selection within four days.

The system also enables gentle clone isolation with up to 100% transfer efficiency and viability, ensuring the integrity of valuable cell lines. Additionally, the integrated EMA 410-compliant productivity assay supports full traceability, providing confidence in regulatory compliance.

As part of Sartorius’ comprehensive CLD ecosystem, the CellCelector CLD integrates instruments, consumables, reagents, and media into a unified workflow. This innovation helps bioprocess teams enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet stringent regulatory requirements.
